Gorgeous copper color with white fluffy head. Nice floral hop aroma greets your nose. Rich bready malt flavor hits you upon first sip and finishes with a slight hop bitter end. Medium to light carbonation gives this ale a smooth mouth feel. A pleasant surprise and a testament to the hard work of the brewer. Just passing through the Soo so stopped in for a quick pint. Worth the stop.

I had this on-tap at the Brewery in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Review taken from notes.
This beer pours a slightly hazy orangish amber color. It has about a finger of white head resting on top. The head has pretty good retention, and there is some scattered lace left clinging to the glass. The nose is of lightly toasted malts and there is some fruitiness to it. I am also getting some a mild hop aroma. There is a touch of citrus here as well. The taste pretty much follows the nose. It starts off with some lightly toasted malts and some nice fruit flavors. There is a mild hop presence that comes through, as well as a little bit if caramel and citrus. The finish leaves some lingering malt and hop presence. This has a medium body and good carbonation. It goes down very easy and has a nice smooth quality to it. There is some sweetness that achieves good balance when paired with the medium hop presence. The mouthfeel overall just seems like it has more substance than a lot of the other english pales I've had, which is nice. There is good drinkability here. They call this their flagship beer and I can see why. It is a very approachable beer. It has nice flavor and goes down really easy. I also like that it can be a nice introduction into craft beer for the inexperienced beer people that live in the soo, who just come in to see what the place is all about. Anyways, I thought this was a nice solid beer, and I would buy it again. I recommend stopping by and trying it out if you are ever passing through Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
