We’re firm believers that it’s not about where you’re from, but where you stand. Character makes you who you are, wherever you go. That’s the philosophy we had in mind when making this Berliner Weisse. A classic German-style ale, brewed in The Bronx, using a heavy supply of cucumbers and a small dose of basil giving it a character all of its own. Enjoy it no matter Where You Stand.

12 oz can. Pours golden with short-lived, foamy white head and lively carbonation. Nose is of bready malt, cucumber and lemon. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is sour, what malt, cucumber some herbal hops. Finish is long and sour. Refreshing brew.

L: Poured from a can to a pint glass. Had a golden yellow color and a cloudy consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. No real lacing to speak of.
S: A strange aroma of cucumber, wheat, citrus, and spices, as well.
T: Tasted of a good amount of wheat (present throughout), light salt notes, a massive amount of cucumber, light citrus notes (lemon, mostly), some basil, and light malt. They tell you what you're getting on the can's label, but it doesn't seem to work that well. The cucumber kind of takes over and doesn't necessarily mix well with the other elements.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This beer has its good qualities, but doesn't always work. Could've been better.

A- Pale gold pour with thin sticky lacing and low carbonation.
S - Citrus/light lemon, cucumber, and basil.
T - Citrus, cucumber, and basil up front and ends with a lingering cereal grain flavor.
M - Light medium body.
O - Refreshing but don't care for the lingering cereal grain finish.

The blend of flavors works well, with a light tartness and smooth body. I can detect the cucumber and basil but neither is overpowering.
Subtle but interesting enough - pretty good.
