Pours a clear pale straw color with visible carbonation. A thumbnail length shows head good retention and lacing.
The nose mostly emits sweetness punctuated by the roasty notes of coffee.
The coffee aroma is supported by notes of biscuity malt, caramel and honey, as well as spicy notes of grass and hints of citrus.
Moderately sweet bready, biscuity and caramel malts support the shoe stealing flavors of coffee beans. Beyond that, it’s relatively clean and well balanced by roasty and earthy hops bitterness. Hints of lemon and grass add brightness. The finish is smooth and coffee flavored.
Medium bodied and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is in between crisp and smooth. The carbonation is lively.
Interesting interpretation of the Kolsch style. I like it how the coffee doesn’t overwhelm the base style.
