Ode To The Black Fiddler is a Hazy India Pale Ale with a sweet, smooth, cracker-like taste in the company of subtle fruit flavors. Citra and Azacca hops lend a wide array of tropical fruit flavors escorted by spicy and pine-like undertones. The addition of Honey Ginger Crystals and Lime Peel contributes to a smooth-tasting; concentrated tangy citrus flavor!

I don't see any obvious date code listed on the can or the label.
Appearance: It is a gold color which is a deeper shade of gold in the center and a lighter shade at the edges. It is nearly opaque with indecipherable shadows which are visible through the glass. The head is short, white, and creamy in texture. It has some lacing which forms as small bubbles but they rain from the edges of the glass as it is tilted.
Aroma: It has a caramel aroma and a bit of what smells like orange gummy candy slices. There is also a touch of alcohol.
Taste: It tastes like orange gummy slices and alcohol at first. The alcohol character ramps up towards the middle of the palate and it is joined by some oddly bitter but nondescript flavors. There is this really strong bitter flavor which is hard to pinpoint that railroads the flavor which is otherwise dominated by this overly sweet caramel note. The whole thing feels more like a trial batch rather than a production beer.
Mouthfeel: Bitterness is high on this beer but there is also this separate and unchecked caramel sweetness which rides alongside the bitterness like a motorcycle with a sidecar. It is a really strange drinking beer. It feels medium bodied but it leans slightly towards medium-high. Carbonation feels a bit awkward in this beer because it feels like the carbonation is fine but the beer still feels too heavy.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is a "HAZY INDIA PALE ALE BREWED WITH GINGER AND LIME" which would make sense because the beer has this really awkward and strong bitterness which would align with the characteristics of lime. It doesn't taste like lime juice or lime zest which is really weird, but it definitely has a strange bitterness that doesn't quite fit with hops. The ginger is non-present which is disappointing. There is an orange flavor that manages to sneak through but it sharply drops off in the flavor profile. As a whole it felt unperfected as a beer and even misleading when it claims to have ginger. There's nothing here that would make me want to buy the beer again, so I won't bother recommending it.
