Pours a hazed, but vibrant, golden-orange color with a finger-and-a-half of creamy-looking near-white head. Leaves a wisp across the top and decent lacing.
Low-quality chocolate is definitely the prominent aroma. It’s also coupled with a husky, nutty, peanut aroma and a hint of yeast. There’s just a ghost of orchard fruit sweetness below.
The taste is less chocolatey, although it’s still there. The peanut character is more prevalent. Tasted blind, I may peg this for a peanut butter cup-type beer. There’s again just a hint of sweetness, but it has a fairly dry, grainy finish to it.
Light to medium bodied, it comes across fairly still at first, but there is some slow-building carbonation to the feel.
I’m sure the name influenced the impression I’m getting, but it does come across like white chocolate in particular — albeit with some strong peanut character in there, too. I’d say this one delivers as promised, but it’s definitely a one-and-done experience for me.
