Stopped here while staying in the Texas Hill Country and had a great time.
Live music playing, good crowd, good food and great beer. My wife and I had a great time.
Very nice beer selection, and that evening, a good selection of ciders that my wife appreciated. Had an excellent dunkelweizen that I will go back for if the chance arises.

Hopping joint, crawfish boil going on while I was here. Hugh multi-level place, U-shaped bar, service bar, large patio, upper deck, place was packed. 8 beers on tap,the one I had was solid. Food smelt good, but did not try it. Oh, and live music.

Usually when you sample the full list of brews at a brewery, you hit one or two duds -- not at Middleton Brewing. They all tasted well executed and presented. If you're in the area, it's a must visit and sample. The vibe is TX hill country meets modern garage.

Awesome spot! We went through on an afternoon drive from Lockhart to Wimberely. We saw Middleton and had to stop. The staff were super friendly and the selection is quite wide for a Texas spot (oatmeal stout to blackberry blonde to several PA styles to porter to several Belgians). The observation deck is bomb and the food trucks are great (Pitas and sliders). Will be back many times!!!

Small out-of-the-way brewery south of Austin. Usually a good variety of beers on tap and the quality has improved a lot over the past year or so. Nice patio up top.

Definitely worth checking out if you've tried everything Austin has to offer. I've been going to this place frequently over the years & never been dissapointed.
Middleton wants to grow & their new facility shows this. You will start to see their stuff in your local grocery beer-aisle one day & it's been cool watching this place transform to where it's at currently!

Middleton Brewing is a cool, laid-back brewery/pub that's in fairly close proximity to Twisted X, Smoke'n Hops, Thirsty Planet, Real Ale, and Jester King. It's got both indoor and outdoor seating, two stories and it's dog friendly. It's more interesting in appearance on the inside than you might expect given the exterior, with some interesting details: Belgian and Texas flags, a cattle skull, a hop lamp, and an interesting poured concrete bar-top. If you go upstairs you get a pretty nice view; and if you get hungry there's a food truck right out front (Slinging' Sliders).

Nice Belgian influence. Hop lights are cool. Even had hooks under the bar. : )
Update: Never thought I'd post anything based on this, but I hit the restroom on the way out--urinals are awesome...

Really liked the vibe this place had on our last visit. Looked like quite a few regulars around the bar with a super nice bartender pouring the brews. A couple of nice Labs came by to sniff us and take a few pats on the back and then went back to where they were resting. Service was outstanding with the bartender taking the time to explain exactly what they were serving and how it was brewed. The lower score on selection is due to the fact that when we went mainly all they had on the line was Belgians (which I know they specialize in...so I'm not knocking them for that), but after the first couple they all started to taste the same.

Went on a Saturday night with the fam. Didn't seem like the best place for families but no one bother us, and staff treated us fantastic. Great selection of in house beers (pepper head was my favorite), prices were very reasonable. Looking forward to returning with a growler or 2 in hand.

The wife and I checked out Middleton this past weekend on our trip out to Wimberly. We were both excited to try out a brewpub so close to our alma mater, Texas State. The building itself is really cool - 2 story establishment, patio outside, bar seating on each floor looking out onto the intersection and the hill country.
They only had 2 house beers on tap, a pale ale and a belgian pale ale, plus 4-5 others and a nice selection of bottles. Long story short: their house beers were plainly undrinkable. I was unable to finish my pale ale due to a heavy lemon cleaner mixed with raw liquid extract taste. Dirty lines? Old beer that the hops dropped out? Tainted by the aromas of the homebrew shop upstairs? The belgian pale ale was better, but those aromas were still present, just in small quantities.
We also ordered an Antonelli's cheese plate that was delivered WITHOUT cheese. The ONE employee that was working said they ran out of cheese, but delivered it anyways. The sausage was hacked to death and was accompanied by chex mix and stale crackers. He was nice enough to comp us the plate though.
I wanted to like the place, so I got a Scuplin IPA from Ballast Point. Unfortunately, the same cleaner/malt extract odor permeated the beer and soured my experience of a very nice IPA. Quite disappointed.
I cannot recommend this place at all. Very disappointed by the beer.

The owners are really nice and extremely knowledgeable. Great selection of craft beer. There's usually some Belgian styles on tap along with various guest beers. Bottle conditioned available as well. The place smells fantastic when they're brewing in the back. The owner routinely gives brewing demonstrations on the weekends. It's easy to tell how much he enjoys his work.
Always seem to meet nice, interesting people in brewpubs and Middleton's is no exception. The staff is courteous and readily gives you a sample to help you make your choice.
This a must stop for any beer lover in the area.

If you want to try some exceptional brews you have got to stop by this place. The beer that Mr. Middleton (owner and brewer) makes is some of the most flavorful beers I have ever expierenced. They also have a bunch of different Belgian style ales on tap that will please anyone palate. I must suggest you try the Cascadian Dark Ale, if it is available. They also sell some bottle conditioned ales that are very good as well. This place has a great atmosphere that if I lived in Wimberly I would become quite the regular at the bar. The servers are very knowledgable about the beers that they serve and can point you in the right direction if you are unsure about what you want to try. They are also very knowledgable in the homebrew products that they sell on site as well. If you are in the Hill Country area yo uhave to stop by Middleton Brewing.

A combination nano-brewery and homebrew shop located in Wimberley right next to Wimberley brewing.
The place is run by a husband and wife team that recently moved to the state from San Antonio. Downstairs is a small six seat bar, while upstairs is a homebrew shop. I believe a local homebrew club also meets here.
When I went, there were five beers on tap (they typically have six but one keg had just blown) and there was also another beer available in bottles. The beer was pretty good and they are planning on doing experimental beers such as sours in the future. The food appeared to be a cheese plate and peanuts, so eat before you come. Outside of the bottles, the owner said they were not allowed to fill growlers. Not sure of the reason, but they said they are trying to rectify the situation.
Definitely a place that shows some potential.

Take a scenic drive through the Hill Country to get here.
This is a new place that opened up a stone’s throw away from the Wimberly Brewing Company and between the two I’d say they have the market on mom-and-pop, family-friendly, small town Texas microbreweries cornered. The Middleton Brewing Company is part homebrew store and newly opened microbrewery. On the Friday I visited they had three of their own beers on tap and a fourth that kicked right before I arrived. Mostly Belgian style beers that were pretty solid. If you’re in the mood for something else they have a few handles to cover all tastes, and they serve up handmade crackers with spent grains to nosh on. The couple that runs this place is approachable, welcoming, and just a blast to geek out with.
