Bottle poured into Guinness brewhouse series pint glass in low altitude Galway, Ireland. Acquired at an off-license in Cork, Ireland. Reviewed live.
A: Four finger head of no cream, fair thickness, and average retention. Clear dark yellow colour.
Sm: Stale barley. Bleh.
T: Creamed stale barley. An upshot of cream on the climax. Very simple and not particularly refreshing. Not quite balanced; most of the flavour is in the first half. More complexity and crystal hops would greatly increase the quality of this beer as a pilsener.
Mf: Too smooth and too wet. Classic fallacy.
Dr: Dirt cheap by Irish standards, but by no means a great tasting beer. It slides down easily enough.
