Not quite a porter; its malt profile is less complex. But the fact that I'm comparing it to a porter is a point in its favor. A good-looking brown beer body, though its taste runs a little thin at first. I go get a nice touch of coffee and chocolate toward the end.

This beer poured practically black and formed a small, light tan head that left some circular lace as it subsided. An aroma of malt, hops and chocolate with a hint of butterscotch. A flavor of malts, hops and chocolate with a nutty butterscotch aspect. It had a medium body and a slightly astrigent finish. A pretty good nut brown.
