Taste: semi sweet, mellow pumpkin spiced, malty. Mild pumpkin nose. Copper color hue, clear, cream colored head with a lattice of lace. Medium body. Needs a little more spice.

Remarkable tug of war between bitter hop overdose and sweet pumpkin pie. Starts out with a nice tang, then spirals into a clove and cinnamon bomb crater. Bitterness wrenches at your tongue while the hard candy sugar coats your mouth. Big nose of cheap spice. Long bitter aftertaste. ANy malt has been lost in the process. Nice amber copper color, however, and decent light mouthfeel.
Always interesting when taste differ so much. I had this just the week before the previous reviewer. I call it one of my worst non-spoiled beer experiences of the year. On tap at the brewpub Sept. 18, 2011 (review from notes).

Poured from a growler last night.
A- Poured a light hazed golden orange. Half finger white head dies down rather quickly. Light streaky lacing on the glass that falls back into the glass.
S- Pumpkin upfront on this is nice. Tons of cinnamon and nutmeg make up most of the aroma. Light caramel malts in the backing. No real hops in the the aroma. Nice falltime aroma!
T- A nice pumpkin flavor in the front of this. There is a light watery note that comes through in the ending of the front. This gives way to a bready taste with a pumpkin bread flavor. Nutmeg and light cinnamon with a allspice ending to the beer. Quite enjoyable and very well balanced.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was good for the beer but lower for the style. Spices and pumpkin are left on the palate and long into the aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden and does not dry the palate. Balanced overall in the flavor.
D- The drinkablility on this beer is high. It's not too sweet like some of the pumpkin beers which makes it many glasses full. The abv although not known must not be too high or else it is very well hidden. A good pumpkin beer that I enjoyed a lot!

A deep orange in the glass, with little to no head.
Smell is all spices, cinnamon being the most prevalent. The combination of spices gives it a pumpkin quality.
Taste is huge cinnamon, like a shot of Hot Damn. At first I was appalled at the lack of balance. But then I thought "a cinnamon beer is interesting". So, I started looking at it from that perspective and really started to enjoy it.
Mouthfeel was good, very creamy.
Drinkability suffered from the fact that a cinnamon beer is a little arduous to drink.
Overall, it was the oddness of this beer that made it memorable. Worth a try if your in the mood for something different.

This is a beer where spices were added, rather than any pumpkin, to get the same effect. This beer poured a dark yellow color and formed a small white bubbly head that left trace lace. The aroma was of hops and mildly of malt, with little hint of the spices present. The flavor was of hops and malt with spices present, but nothing that really reminded me of pumpkin. Not really a bad beer, just doesn't seem to succeed in being a pumpkin beer. But I not a big fan of them anyway, which may account for it.
