After seeing this beer on tap on Olde Peninsula's twitter feed @OPBrewerDan I really wanted to give this a try. The description on their page is: @ #OP! #Habanero, #Maple, #Walnut, #Vanilla, #Coffee #Porter & #BACON!
I was told by our bartender the beer is basically a 50-50 mix of their Pancake Porter and their Habanero beer (forgive me for not remembering the actual name of this beer). The beer is served in a tulip glass and garnished with a piece of bacon (very cool!).
The look of this beer was probably the coolest that I've experienced. The beer poured dark brown/black with a nice tan head. With the bacon garnishment, this one was presented in a great way. I could smell maple/bacon/coffee/habanero when putting the glass to my nose. All of the flavors I could smell were tasted upon the first sampling, with the habanero having a slightly overwhelming finish. If you don't like heat/spice, this one may not be for you because of the pronounced heat at the end.
I came here tonight because of this beer; the few habanero beers that I've had have really impressed me (not a flavor I expect to taste in a beer, but one I appreciate). It's not the type of beer that I could drink more than one in a setting, but if this one is on tap again, I will definitely be having another glass.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
