A - pours with a small head of light tan foam on an opaque, black body. The head settles quickly and leaves little lace.
S - dark bread and a hint of chocolate.
T - dark, dry caramel, with a but of molasses. Some burnt sugar in the middle and lightly green hop flavors show up briefly before providing moderate bitterness in the finish.
M - medium body, moderate carbonation and a dry finish.
D - not bad, it has some nice dark sugar complexity but the finish is really dry for an oatmeal stout and there is a lack of true roasted character.

A: half finger tan head with excellent lacing on a very dark black body.
S: mild roasted malt and light milk chocolate notes but overall mild on the nose.
T: dark roasted malt with a mild hop bitterness yet this one finishes with a mild smooth milk chocolate flavor.
M: moderate carbonation. Medium body which is a little too light for me.
Overall: may have been my least favorite of the actually very good line of beers at this brewer. The aroma and flavor were a little too mild and the body wasn't full enough.
