A hop lover’s dream IPA!
We couldn't hold our brewer back on this one! Loaded with Mosaic, Simcoe and Azacca hops, this unfiltered, unpasteurized IPA has tropical and pear aromas with distinct citrus, mango and papaya flavors. A touch of sweetness. A touch of maltiness. Hopped to the hilt. One sip and everything will be FINE!
HOP VARIETIES: Ahtanum, Cluster, Northern Brewer.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of mango, peach, pineapple and toasted caramel. Sweet tropical fruitiness with sweet caramel backbone.

Cloudy dark gold with persistant lace. Balanced hopps bitterness only when chilled. An exceptional pub draught if you can keep them coming chilled.

Excellent aroma and flavor highlight this one. I wish the flavor was sustained longer, as it flattens out to a mild bitterness. The feel of this beer brings me back though, and glad they offer it in cans now (though I enjoyed it a little more from the bottle.)

L: sunstone Orange, foamy head, medium retention, lots of particles, fairly cloudy
S: Tropical notes of mango and apricot
T: The tropical flavors come through at first with a pine and grass bitter finish. Taste lingers on the bitters for a after taste
MF: oily, light-medium body, mild warmth.
O: a nice tropical flavored IPA. Not the best of its kind but certainly not the worst. Worth trying

Commodore 64 graphics adorn this 750ML bottle. No bottle date, which means even if I like it, I won’t buy another. Split with my wife.
The pour is clear orange & vibrant enough that I can only get about 16 ounces into the glasses. Aroma is bald-man sparse. Touch of citrus, touch of sweetness from the malt, both quickly forgotten. Barely present.
Fine! IPA is so accurately labeled it’s a tad scary. Lots of caramel, which I generally associate with malts, not hops, up front…IPA, check. It works thought, because the hops rush up & clobber the malts with a cudgel of bitterness; I think the top of mouth is scarring. Some sharp papaya, melon, both with a good dirt rub that doesn’t touch me right. Half a bomber will be fine, thanks.
This might be really good without the dankness that all the cool kids seem to like; me, I stopped eating backyard dirt when I was two. As is, pretty good brew.

This is listed as an English IPA – it is not. As the list of hops on the bottle suggest, it is a west coast version of an American IPA.
L: Pours bright amber under a 2” persistent, rocky cream colored foam column that takes 3 minutes to recede to 1/3 its original size.
S: Popping the cap releases big fragrant hop aromas featuring earthy tropical fruit with bread crumb aromas emerging as the hops fade.
T: Layered flavors of tropical fruit, malt and medium high bitterness alternate. The beer is hop forward but a mild malty sweetness provides good support. Malt is just above medium. Pear in the background with tropical fruit.
F: Very creamy medium body with soft medium carbonation.
O: A nicely done, not excessively strong beer that balances sweet and bitter well.

Appearance: Clear amber, big head.
Smell: Pretty strong berry aroma with hints of tropical fruit. Very nice!
Taste: Mild sweetness then a mix of berry and citrus. A little earthiness. Low/mild bitterness.
Overall: Big Wood put out this special IPA in 750's to stores, so I picked one up. Very nice smell to it, lots of berries with a tropical touch. Taste is good too, I'd say it straddles the line between American and English IPA, but leans more American. How many English IPAs have Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca hops?

This beer pours a sparking clear gold-amber with a minimal head. The aroma offers up grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, brown bread, and a touch of mango. The flavor starts with a mild amount of citrus and tropical fruit. The finish provides a fairly dry and dirty caramel flavor. There is almost no bitterness present in the flavor. The mouthfeel is very thin and light, but not exceedingly dry. Overall the flavor is quite muted, and the bitterness is completely absent. I was hoping for much more given the hops.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a chalice.
Appearance: Pours a deep copper orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.
Smell: A nicely juicy and earthy hop driven aroma with a scent of citrus fruit and grass. Upfront citrus hop scent of orange peel, lemon, grapefruit, mango, and melon. Some earthy hints of grass and pine. Malt hints of caramel and grains along with yeast. A pretty nice juicy aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit and grass. Juicy citrus hop notes of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, lemon, and melon. Earthy hop notes of grass and pine along with some floral notes. Backing malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker with some yeast. A pretty solid juicy taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and smooth with a drying finish.
Overall: A pretty good IPA. Nice juicy hop flavor. Seems more American style than English.
