On tap in a shaker pint at Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews in Bismarck. Amber color with light carbonation, short white-ish head faded quickly. Herbal and bready aroma. Taste follows: herbal, bready, no bitterness. The bread and herbal taste ramains throughout and into the finish, leaving a relatively unpleasant aftertaste. In summary, not very good. Sent it back unfinished.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. No canning date information found. 6.2 %ABV listed on can.
Clear, pale amber colored body. Even with an aggressive pour there is very little head, but an island stays around. No lacing.
Burnt malt aroma, with a little caramel.
The burnt aspect is also in the taste. Has the general darker caramel flavor, and a tiny touch of spicy hops.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Low carbonation.
I would not session sample this for a fest beer, because of the odd burnt flavor. Not inviting to keep drinking.

On tap at a restaurant into a shaker. Served with absolutely no head and so no lacing...undoubtedly not the fault of the beer, but disappointing nonetheless...clear deep copper-reddish color. Nose has some toasted malts, some caramel apple sweetness, and some clove. Taste pretty much follows...the almost medicinal/herbal hops are very light on the edges, which is okay, but the integration and interplay with the other flavors seems a little off to me. The flavors are fairly full, the body is moderate and a little chewy, the carbonation is middling to high; something about the finish is less than satisfactory. This has some promising elements, but isn't something I'm likely to come back to.
...turns out that I did come back to this, as a single in a pick-six. More or less still agree with the initial review, though it might be a little better, even though it was canned about 5 months ago. Or maybe I just really miss Ofests.

I think this beer has gotten better since last year's release. It seem a little smoother and better flavor. Still is a copper pour with not much head. Malty smell or lack of. Solid October beer!

Served in a nonic pint glass.
L : Festive orangish-honey color, 70% transparent, with a grey off-white head 2 fingers tall to start, receding to 1 finger eventually leaving sparse lacing.
S : Waves of amber roasted malts, some polite yeast and sharp hop. The aroma also gives off some festive clove and nutmeg, and allspice.
T : Quite a bit of hop out front, followed by a rush of roasted malts, and then a wrench is thrown into the mix with an astringent medicinal taste...drying off to a yeasty finish.
F : Light, crispy, moderate carbonation, refreshing. Ends dry.
Overall : An okay Oktoberfest but nothing I'd have again. The medicinal flavor halfway through the taste throws it off for me.
