It pours dark with a small head. The aroma is predominantly of dark roasted malts, coffee and some cacao. The taste in intensely bitter with a nutty aftertaste. A very nice and easy to drink beer.

Thanks goes out to sembo for this brew.
12 oz. Can
Pours a pretty nice dark brown color, with some very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger tan head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, roasty, nutty, with some vanilla. The taste is really nice, malty, with some nice roast/nutty note, vanilla. Medium body. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Thanks Eric!

Poured out a jet black color with a one finger, light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate and roasted oats. Nice roasty coffee flavor with chocolate and burnt toast maltiness.

Bit oxidized, not sure on their canning tech. Poured a nice dark brown, good head retention. Nose was solid stout with a metal tinge. Taste was again good solid stout, but that oxidation tended to ruin it. I'd try it again, especially on tap. Keep trying ND!

Poured dark brown from the can into a tree house tasting glass. Had a metallic smell and taste. Almost like it absorbed some of the metal from the can. Acquired to try a beer from North Dakota, a state I've never had a beer from before.

12 ounce can into a snifter.
Pours black and viscous but doesn't show much in the way of head. Khaki color to what head is there. After a period the head dissipates and it's just a pitch-black liquid.
Smells a tad tart and like burnt sugar. A bit of a dark fruit aroma but the combination of the fruit, burnt sugar and tartness aren't quite attractive and almost suggest an infection of some sort. I won't go as far as to declare such, but it seems if this beer had sat any longer it would be something wild.
Flavor is identical to the nose. Burnt sugar, light dark fruit and some tart notes. It's not terrible but not terribly appealing as well.
I don't want to even finish a 12 ounce can unfortunately.

APPEARANCE: Looks like a cup of black coffee. Excellent carbonation when I rock the glass back and forth. A finger of quickly dissipating tan head that leaves a ring on top. Spotty lacing.
AROMA: Nice. Big oatmeal, coffee, chocolate. Smells like coffee creamer. Smells sweet and creamy.
TASTE: Tastes like a big cup of iced down, creamy, coffee. It has a subtle, pleasant sour note, and then you get some chocolate and the creaminess of the oatmeal.
FEEL: It is 6.3 abv, so don't expect a chewy-thick stout. Carbonation is med-full, texture is creamy, and the body is medium thin.
OVERALL: Very unique to me, as it's the first oatmeal milk stout I've had. I hope they continue to tweak the recipe. The mild sour quality is a first for me, but enjoyable....For sure, you betcha!

This beer pours a very dark brown with a small, mocha colored head. The aromas of figs, raisins, light roast coffee and chocolate are most apparent. The flavor gives clear impressions of lactose, brown sugar, hazelnuts, plums, figs, raisins, and light roast coffee. The mouthfeel is thin and easy with a touch of creaminess. Overall this is a superb milk stout, which manages to have dark flavors but remain refreshing.

12 ounce can into pint glass, purchased at the brewery on 11/13/2015. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduce to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-medium herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, raisin, plum, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Some light roasted dryness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouhfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oatmeal milk stout style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
