The beer is a nice, hazy orange-gold with a creamy head that retains well throughout.
Smells of banana, orange, and slightly grassy.
The taste is a great balance of bready notes, banana, a hint of spice, and has just a slight, refreshing bite to it.
The mouthfeel is excellently smooth and creamy.
I could easily knock back a couple more of these with no trouble.

Pours a hazy Orange with a big, fluffy, white head.
Wonderful orange, banana, malt smell.
The banana and vanilla really comes out in this one, Good breadiness and clove. Not big on other spices.
Good, creamy mouthfeel.
A very good Hefeweizen.

Cerveza con una cabeza cremosa duradera; de cuerpo y carbonatación media. Aroma a trigo, especias y cítricos. En boca me resulta refrescante, destacando nuevamente el trigo pero con un equilibrio gracias al clavo de olor.

I was stationed in Germany back in the late 70's. I lived in Giessen, not too far from Lich. Drank Licher all the time and was amazed by how much better than American beer this was at the time.
Now, I am lucky to find this at Aldi from time to time. When I do, I usually buy all they have in one go.
Just to be greedy.
It brings back fond memories of comradeship and being part of a team. I am still a team player, but I am a greedy team player when it comes to finding a case of Licher at Aldi!
What can I say about Licher Hefe?
It smells like summer in the evening.
It tastes like Summer in the middle of the day.
It has a feel of nostalgia, it reminds me of being 18 again and living in Germany!

L - Classic look of a Weissbier, with a beautiful strong golden, amber tone. What I did not like is the soapy foam. I expected a creamy head.
S - Banana, bread, cloves, hops, in perfect balance. Nothing stands out in a bad way.
T - Great balance between banana and clove notes, nutty malts and the hops' bitterness.
F - The head again felt soapy, not creamy. Nice carbonation with tiny tiny bubbles that add just the right crisp to the medium body of the beer.

Overall a good Weissbier that I will buy again. However, there are other which I prefer above this one.

11.2oz bottle. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden color with a large, white head of foam. It smelled of banana, clove, wheat and yeast. Nice banana notes with sweet wheat and a yeasty spiciness.

Pours a hazy orange color with a medium top of creamy white head and some nice lacings on the glass.
Aroma is strong and like a classic hefeweizen with banan, wheat, cloves and other spices. The flavour is sweet and fruity in the start with some wheat notes in the back and some strong spicy feel from the cloves and some other things. The finish is slightly dry with notes from spices, and the aftertaste has a decent length on it.The flavour is good, but it does,nt have that extra to make it stand out from other of it,s style. Mouthfeel is crisp and smooth and it goes down really easy. Medium carbonated with a strong body.
All in all it,s a good and refreshing hefeweizen that i sure could drink again.

From the bottle, it pours a nice hazy amber with a nice, dense typical weizen head - better than many. It lasts a while, but not overly long. Some banana and bread in the nose. The same goes for the mouth. Yum!

Also in the Aldi Bier Advent Calendar!

New at Aldi and a great price at $6.30 a six-pack. Bottled Nov. 16, 2016. Poured into my Libbey Weizen glass.

L -- Hazy golden peach color with a dense white head.

S -- Light DMS, clove, mild banana and light wheat graininess --light aromas overall.

T -- Mellow fresh bread yeastiness, light clove, light citrus character, all in great symphony if not a little more mellow than some other Weizens. There's a light graininess in the finish and aftertaste and spicy clove with light citrus in the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is typical Weizen; soft and fluffy with a medium-light body.

O -- A great bargain, if not the best Weizen on shelves, but highly satisfying if you're scratching that Weizen itch.

I'll begin this review by saying the Aldi has impressed me at times with their <$7-a-sixer offerings in the past, so perhaps I've adjusted my expectations. Beer pours a nice, cloudy lemony yellow with a fat head that hangs around for a while. Seems like a lot of the depth of color comes from the suspensions rather than the body of the beer itself; strikes me as a lot lighter in hue than many of its style counterparts. Smell is standard banana-and-bubblegum sweetness of a decent wheat: what you'd expect, no more and no less. Taste is similarly standard, though the taste is much less sweet than the nose would imply. Perhaps a bit fuller mouthfeel than I'd expect (which I like), but still plenty easy to drink. Not at the top of style (or particularly close), but nothing bad about this beer at all, particularly at the price point. I will note that my attitude changed significantly from the first I quaffed to the third (which the review came from) over the course of two nights.

Pours a hazy light yellow hay color.
Smell is strong banana.
Taste is strong banana and very spicy wheat and clove. If you like strong flavor then you'll love this.
Feels heavier than other hefes I've had.
Overall, i like paulaner and weinsthephaner better than this. This is too strong taste wise and heavy for a hefeweizen. But some may like that. I like a light hefe. Not a bad beer though.

500ml bottle

Appearance: cloudy orange, builds a 2-3 finger head that leaves some lacing. Intense carbonation.

Smell: banana, cloves, wheat, fruity and spicy.

Taste: strong banana flavour backed up by a spicy wheaty aftertaste. Maybe other fruit is in there. It's more tasty and sweeter than Schofferhofer Hefe, for example.

Mouthfeel: pretty intense due to the carbonation and more boozy than I'd expected. Medium bodied.

Overall: I really liked it. Simple and effective, well balanced, not light nor overly sweet.

Picked up a half liter, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a nice earthy yeasty waft. Pours into a big chalice to a cloudy dark yellow with a huge white micro bubble head. On the taste this brew is fresh and quite carbonated. Not a whole lot here to write home about, typical wheat beer, refreshing and by far more sweet than bitter. A good drinker, representative of the style.

From Hipercor, in sale. In Paulaner glass. Playing Memoria. Its body seems bigger than in the typical hefeweizen. Really good in its style, with great aroma and flavor. Avg 4.3

17 May 2017. In Bavaria glass. New label. At lunch, after futsal match, with omelette. Not as great as I remembered, with a lighter and smoother body and less taste, although still pleasant

I prefer to others of its kind, for its softness and for a very balanced feel of aromas and flavors. The slightly sweet tone gives greater enjoyment in the mouth, without being annoying.

Hazy dark amber orange color with an abundant thick head with good retention.
Predominant aroma of banana and yeast. Hints of pine and wheat.
Interesting that the flavor is more citric then the suggested banana in the nose. Light notes of cloves and some pine hops. Wheaty aftertaste.
Light body with low carbonation with a mild spicy sensation in your tongue.
A thirst quencher hefeweizen, less complex than average for the style. I found it a bit bland. Though, I haven’t tried it that fresh.

Comes in a hazy orange, yellow color with a foamy head.

The taste is wonderful. Huge banana bumble gum, a smooth wheat mouthfeel, and a slight hint of lemon. A round complex flavor. There isn't much spiciness, but more of that bready banana fruity roundness.

One of my favorite hefeweizens.

Best by 7/26/13.

Pours a murky dark honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, fermented banana, and some earthy spice aromas. Taste is much the same with a distinct caramel covered banana flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp but slightly medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that tastes better than it smells in my opinion.

Poured two fingers of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is banana and lemon with a sharp grapefruit injection. Nice though.
The taste is very "wheaty" with some banana, finishes with a slight sour note.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation.
A tasty hefe with a bit different taste, but still nice.

Cloudy amber in the pint shaker-- it's the classic look. Rather modest head for a Hefeweizen, but quite spritzy and sharp in the mouth.

This one is a little more tart and edgy than some of the bubblegum monsters. It does have a pleasant mouthful of the German esters. A nice banana tang. More fruity than most with a great nose of peaches and cherries. Just a hint of cloves. Seemingly untouched by hops, but somehow perfectly balanced.

Another example of the Germans knowing what they're doing with these classic styles. On tap at Pizza Port in Ocean Beach.

Had on tap at Ramstein AB sports bar. Served in weizen glass with average head and hazy golden color. Not as much banana taste in this one, but decent flavor overall.

Nice hefe...not top tier, but tasty and refreshing anyway. Pours a hazy dark dull gold with a really big delicate, bubbly head. Head retention is good, lacing minimal.

Aroma is just a bit better than average, cloves and banana

Taste is better than average as well. Some wheat bitterness with bananas, cloves and not as much yeast presence as some of the really good hefes.

Mouthfeel is about right for a hefe. Crisp, astringent characteristics, rich enough.

All in all a good hefe, just not in the Paulaner etc. class.

On-tap at Delaney's into a weizen glass.

A: Surprisingly (but not totally) clear pale orange body topped with two fingers of fine white head. Mediocre retention, spotty lace. Not bad, but no better than average.

S: Clove-bomb. Light wheat + banana. Clean and approachable, but a bit simple.

T: Wheat malt sweetness, clove spice, and a pleasantly piquant finish. Simple and effective.

M: Soft medium body, moderate carbonation. Delicate and enjoyable.

O: This is a decent, highly drinkable beer, but it pales in comparison to some of the better ones available - both from Germany and the US. Give me a Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, Hacker-Pshorr, Schneider, Live Oak, or New Glarus weizen any day.

Golden body with a hint of cloudy. Big ball of white foam fills weizen glass.

Big clove aroma with a banana back-up.

Taste starts with clove, then a big wheat tang. Banana background.

Light bubbly mouthfeel.

A refreshing and enjoyable hefe. You would be weisen to give it a try.

500ml bottle into my Erdinger glass.

It pours a hazy gold with a huge, almost uncontrollable foamy white head. The head is fantastic, not a bad looking beer.

The smell is definitely sweet. It is banana-y with some strong malt and wheat. The clove is also there.

The flavor is okay, mostly wheat. There is some banana too. It is a bit bland, the mouthfeel is way too watery. This beer is only a day from its best by date so that might be why.

It is decent.
