From the bottle, it pours a nice hazy amber with a nice, dense typical weizen head - better than many. It lasts a while, but not overly long. Some banana and bread in the nose. The same goes for the mouth. Yum!

New at Aldi and a great price at $6.30 a six-pack. Bottled Nov. 16, 2016. Poured into my Libbey Weizen glass.

L -- Hazy golden peach color with a dense white head.

S -- Light DMS, clove, mild banana and light wheat graininess --light aromas overall.

T -- Mellow fresh bread yeastiness, light clove, light citrus character, all in great symphony if not a little more mellow than some other Weizens. There's a light graininess in the finish and aftertaste and spicy clove with light citrus in the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is typical Weizen; soft and fluffy with a medium-light body.

O -- A great bargain, if not the best Weizen on shelves, but highly satisfying if you're scratching that Weizen itch.

I'll begin this review by saying the Aldi has impressed me at times with their <$7-a-sixer offerings in the past, so perhaps I've adjusted my expectations. Beer pours a nice, cloudy lemony yellow with a fat head that hangs around for a while. Seems like a lot of the depth of color comes from the suspensions rather than the body of the beer itself; strikes me as a lot lighter in hue than many of its style counterparts. Smell is standard banana-and-bubblegum sweetness of a decent wheat: what you'd expect, no more and no less. Taste is similarly standard, though the taste is much less sweet than the nose would imply. Perhaps a bit fuller mouthfeel than I'd expect (which I like), but still plenty easy to drink. Not at the top of style (or particularly close), but nothing bad about this beer at all, particularly at the price point. I will note that my attitude changed significantly from the first I quaffed to the third (which the review came from) over the course of two nights.

Pours a hazy light yellow hay color.
Smell is strong banana.
Taste is strong banana and very spicy wheat and clove. If you like strong flavor then you'll love this.
Feels heavier than other hefes I've had.
Overall, i like paulaner and weinsthephaner better than this. This is too strong taste wise and heavy for a hefeweizen. But some may like that. I like a light hefe. Not a bad beer though.

500ml bottle

Appearance: cloudy orange, builds a 2-3 finger head that leaves some lacing. Intense carbonation.

Smell: banana, cloves, wheat, fruity and spicy.

Taste: strong banana flavour backed up by a spicy wheaty aftertaste. Maybe other fruit is in there. It's more tasty and sweeter than Schofferhofer Hefe, for example.

Mouthfeel: pretty intense due to the carbonation and more boozy than I'd expected. Medium bodied.

Overall: I really liked it. Simple and effective, well balanced, not light nor overly sweet.

Picked up a half liter, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a nice earthy yeasty waft. Pours into a big chalice to a cloudy dark yellow with a huge white micro bubble head. On the taste this brew is fresh and quite carbonated. Not a whole lot here to write home about, typical wheat beer, refreshing and by far more sweet than bitter. A good drinker, representative of the style.

From Hipercor, in sale. In Paulaner glass. Playing Memoria. Its body seems bigger than in the typical hefeweizen. Really good in its style, with great aroma and flavor.

I prefer to others of its kind, for its softness and for a very balanced feel of aromas and flavors. The slightly sweet tone gives greater enjoyment in the mouth, without being annoying.
