Served on tap at Harmony Brewing Co. Got a pint over the warnings of my friends there. Capricorn is described by the brewer as a dark chocolate absinthe stout. No idea what to expect!
Appearance is a dark brown with a small amount of creamy head.
Smell is delicious, a combination of dark chocolate and black licorice.
Taste is almost exactly how I imagine a Jagermeister beer would taste - the dark roasted chocolate and caramel flavors mix with the strong black licorice to create a very sweet but not cloying beer. I am amazed at the creativity of the guy who came up with this beer...
Mouthfeel is heavy but not too heavy, the sugary stout taste eased in part by a small amount of carbonation.
Overall a fascinating beer, and a reminder of the creative spirit that Harmony embodies.
