I am still not sure what category to properly put this beer in. The brewery labelled it as a "barrel-aged eccentric ale", and the taste very much backs this statement up. The beer is a vanilla porter aged in cherry bitters barrels, and had a flavor unlike any beer I have ever tasted. This beer was the most interesting brew I've tasted in the past several months, if not in the past year! The aroma carried vanilla, cherry, and cinnamon-esque flavors and was wonderful; the taste was similar, although perhaps a bit more spiced than the aroma. I love the idea of aging in Bitters, and think that this experiment was a great success for Harmony.
