Tasted at the Oregon Brewer Fest 2003. Medium brown color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and slightly fruity. A medium bodied Imperial Lager. Malts are fruity, sweet and nutty. Hops are spicy. This is a big hoppy beer, definitely in the lager style, but cranked way up. Interesting stylistically. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Hophead Lager? I'm intrigued. For OBF 2003
Beer's a light amber, no head. The aroma is very mellow, and forceful inhales are required to pull any smell over the ambient steer manure and trampled lawn odors.
The malt profile doesn't fit the hop profile, both of which seem quite immature. The beer almost tastes like it hadn't the proper lagering time. There's a high fusel or overly unfermented sugar flavor which kills the beer.
