This award-winning dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish. Nitrogen-conditioned.

On tap at North Canton location into pokal glass. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with awesome retention and dense soapy lacing down the glass. Very close to Edmund Fitz. On nitro. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted nuts, dark bread crust, wood, herbal, peppercorn, pine; lt molasses/smoke/charcoal. Light to medium pine herbal char bitter finish. Medium body and lt carb. Great creamy silky mouthfeel with lingering chalky roast and hop resin drying. No acrid astringency. Minimal warming 5.5%. Spot on American style. Fantastic all around. Very rich and robust malt complexity and balanced hops.

Tasted at the Rancho Cucamonga location, but that location does not brew, so the beer likely came from this location. It was listed on the beer menu as only being available for a limited time.
L - Beer appears pitch black and opaque in glass. Beautiful, creamy head is extremely long-lasting, with a deep tan color.
S - Aromas are not very assertive, but consist of dark chocolate and burnt grain, with a lower note of coffee.
T - Burnt grains dominate the palate, with bitter chocolate backing them up. Very clean fermentation with no yeast notes.
F - Light body with moderate carbonation. Low hops seem to indicate an English type of porter. No noticeable alcohol presence.
O - This is a clean, well-made porter that has no faults but also doesn’t stand out in any unique way.

Pours a dark brown, almost black, with no head to it. Smells rich of molasses, dark fruit, coffee & chocolate. The taste is more roasted malts than anything else, has a slight dark fruit flavor, has a not so pleasant burnt coffee aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin, flat & watery. Don't know if it's due to improper beer conditioning from the tap house or not, but this brew did not impress.
