The beer pours a dark gold/amber color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is great. It has a nice, mild malt scent that boasts of pale and crystal malts. It is enhanced with an intense oak aroma that adds a vanilla essence to the brew. The taste is decent. It has an intense oak flavor, almost like whiskey. It is smooth with a creamy finish. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a decent brew. The oak barrels add a new element to the beer, but it seems a little too much in the flavor.
