A growler of Hopfen Treader from BJ's Woodland Hills, CA location, courtesy of Boolshot. Consultation with the local LA BFG (drewbage) has led me to put this in the corporate site.

A: The DIPA has a tawny brownish-red color, pouring with a nice thick head (glad to see that it survived the cross-country journey) that laces extensively in the seidel.

S: The aroma is a bitter concentrated hoppiness, overloaded with citrus and pine notes.

T: The IPA is an intense overload of hop bitterness. When served cold, the bitterness overpowers everything else. As it warms, a biscuity body emerges as does a strong alcohol body. Both flavors do, however, take a back seat to the hops. The bitterness is intense, having an earthy character that doesn't showcase any particular pine or citrus character. The flavors start off strong but finish quickly, coming across as thin in retrospect.

M: The mouthfeel is bitter hops that quickly fade away. When they are strong that aren't very focused so it is difficult to detect any specific flavors.

D: The moderate abv assists the drinkability but the IPA never focuses itself, showing potential but never realizing it.
