Pours golden yellow with light white fading cap from tall pint beer of the month can to pint glass. Malty sweet German-Style Lager with a hint of hop spice. Malty notes of baked bread with a honey sweetness and balanced smooth dry finish. Decent lager at 6.5% ABV and a 22 IBU punch.

Pours a copper color with a decent sized white head and some moderate lacing. Slightly sweet tasting with some malts and a bit grainy and grassy hops. A bit middle of the road boring. Not bad at all though, it's refereshing and clean just not too exciting.

Pours bright orange with an offwhite head. Smell is some sweet, tangy malt with hints of apricot and sourdough bread. Taste is similar with a tart, sweet malt flavor and balancing bitterness. Nice body and carbonation. Has that somewhat tart, biscuity, tangy malt that isn't my favorite, but seems like a good example of the style. Nicely made.

Sampled multiple times in May 2008. Quality varied with each tasting.

Pours slightly hazy orange-gold with generous white head.

Nose is bready/malty with a suggestion of fruits such as grapefruit and orange.

Palate is in line with other maibocks I've sampled - nice malt component that is quite hearty and thirst quenching. Maybe the hop bite is a little more than usual, but nonetheless it is a good domestic craft version of the style that is often neglected.

Enjoyed with my pizza, on to the beer:

Pale light amber in appearance with a good sticky head on top. The nose is fairlly clean with sharp hops and a little bit of spice. To my surpirse, this beer had a lot of spice in the flavor, lots of clove. It's also bready and nutty with the alcohol well hidden. Finishes with some clove residue on the palate. Wait a minute....is this a hefeweizen?

The spice was unexpected, but it wasn't all that bad. I think it actually added a little more character to this particular brew.

Thanks John K ... pours with very little foam ... no real smell, some light caramel ... taste seems to hit right in the middle, but seems to be lacking any assertiveness or true flavour ... also needs more aesthetic qualities .. was somewhat enjoyable and worth a quick try but after one, enough...

Spring release at BJ's. Nice beer. Served in a pint glass, it was a clear orange color with a small white head. It had a malt aroma, nothing too special. Strong malt taste, a little sweet, with a bit of hops. A bit aggressive in the mouth. I had a couple and would willingly have one again.

Appearance: orange with a one inch head that slowly falls to a spotty surface foam.

Smell: malt and fruit sweetness is mild but pleasant.

Taste: decent malt profile with loads of ripe fruit sweetness and some soft bitterness. There seems to be a bit of a smoke tone that shows up near the finish. Alcohol is slightly noticeable.

Mouthfeel: smooth from start to finish. Medium bodied. Aftertaste is long as the malt sweetness locks itself onto the tongue.

Drinkability: decent beer that will hit the spot if you are looking for the style. Worth a try if it's on tap.

On draught at the Columbus location. This beer is a mostly clear yellow/gold color with a medium thin and short-lived off-white head. Spotty lacing. Caramel, citrus and mild hops in the nose. Light-bodied and moderately carbonated with flavors of toasted malt, fruit and hops. The finish is soft with sweet malt and leaves a light spicy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.
