Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a medium amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades fast, leaving a bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heavy of caramel and molasses as well as a bit of a bready and harvest fruit smell. Along with these aromas comes some smells of toast and a bit of a nut, producing a rather nice aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet caramel, molasses, and brown sugar flavor mixed with a decent amount of a bready flavor. As the taste advances the sweetness grows a bit, all while a bit of nuttiness and some light hay and spice come to the tongue. At the very end the harvest fruit and caramel surge a bit, leaving a sweet and malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation that is lower. Overall, for the malty taste and style the feel is good and makes for a nice sipper.
Overall – A decent bock overall, but nothing too exceptional. Well worth a try, but nothing to go out of your way for.
