16 oz. can poured into a pint glass. Pour is a fairly clear deep golden in color with a half inch of off white foam. Moderate retention follows. Brewed with Talus hops. Nose of lightly resinous pine mixed with some mellow tropical fruit notes, fleeting flash of onion after a top off. Taste follows with a richer malt delivery than expected as the can claims only 2-row and flaked wheat are on the malt bill. This gives a fuller flavor and finishes with a spiced hop note. Overall a decent beer that grows on you after a bit of initial shock as single hop beers sometimes do.

Pours golden yellow semi hazy with big fluffy white foamy cap (that quickly fades and sticks to the sides of glass as it warms) from tall pint BJ’s Beer Club can to tulip glass. Notes of floral roses, pine and sage with flavor of tart pink grapefruit and bold hops. Slightly metallic and
bitter with lingering aftertaste. Okay pale at 44 IBU’s and 5.5% ABV.
BJ’s can: “The first release in BJ’s Brewhouse Beer Club series of single hop beers is brewed with 5 additions of Talus hops. This exciting new hop is bold and complex. Experience every flavor Talu delivers in this single hop and ale ale: pink grapefruit, tropical fruits, dried roses, pine and sage.”
