Rotbier Franconian-Style Red Lager

This 'Red Beer" pours a clear deep reddish almost mahogany in color into a pint glass. A thin cap of light tan foam rests on top of the pour. Aroma offers muddled malt notes with caramel and toasted bread. Not as sweet as it appears with some earthy hop notes blended in. Taste follows in stop with the nose. Light caramel sweetness with a very lightly chewy malt character. Feel is fairly balanced with a firm carbonation on the finish. Quite drinkable for a beer in the general subset of red lagers per se. Not overly sweet yet not too complex either. Nice balance overall.

Pours dark reddish brown with quickly fading big frothy foamy cap from tall pint beer club 4-pack can. Notes of light roasted malt aroma and hints of sweet caramel. Mild hop red lager with “Bestmalz Red X malt and Bravo, Gr. Hallermaier Tradition” hops with crisp smooth finish. Franconian-Style Red Lager.
