Pours golden yellow with white foamy cap from can to glass. Notes of bitter semi sweet grapefruit highlight this Indian Pale Ale from BJ’s Brewery. Good IPA with bitter punch and 6.5% ABV.

Just had this beer again a couple of weeks ago and was still decent after 18 months on the shelf.

On tap at BJ’s in Toms River, served in a Pilsner style glass.

Nice copper amber color with a freshly fluffed white cap. Lots of sticky lacing.

Aromas are earthy, dank, and pine out of strong malt and hopping hops.

Strong malt base with intense West Coast hop flavors, orange, grapefruit, zest, and a bit nutty.

Body and feel are on the plus side of medium. The hop bitterness is high and dry.

The name of the beer resonates strongly.

Had a pint with dinner at the Orlando BJ's 1-26-24 for $5.

Beer looked and smelled good, but the taste was disappointing as it was way too sweet for the style. Feel was medium bodied and fairly refreshing. Overall it was good to wet the whistle after a long drive.

Pours a copper color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of floral notes and grasses. Taste is peppery with a slightly hoppy bitterness at the finish.

Pours a pale golden orange with a finger of rocky off-white head that settles to a thin ring with some lacing. Mild citrus and pine, almost nondirscipt with maybe some grassyness.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium to dark orange amber with a three finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, wort malt, light grassy hops; malty. Flavor is biscuit malt, grassy and lightly citrus hops, hay, a hint of lemon and citrus rind; finishes with moderate grassy bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. An old fashioned malty IPA that reminds me of very early craft IPAs when English styles were the model for hoppy ales. This has more alpha oil bitterness than early IPAs or English IPAs. Quite malty, which is unusual for modern IPAs, but as a fan of malt I found winning. The hops are generic grassy types without any obvious noble hop character. This appears to be a widely distributed chain brewery and restaurant and I was surprised to find there two locations within 60 miles of my house, because I had never heard of them. I found this can at a store and it states it was brewed in Temple, Texas. Not sure how many of the locations have a brewery; perhaps none in Washington. Nothing remarkable, but a solid IPA of the high malt type and quite drinkable. I'd have no problem enjoying this with a meal. I thought this looked quite nice although the orange tint was not common for IPAs today.
