On Tap
Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos, CA
Clear orange and amber with a small white head that leaves the glass messy with spotted and line lacing.
Big hop presence in the aroma, with lots of pine, resin, citrus, and marijuana attributes. There's some sweet malt character as well along with some earthiness.
The flavor too is hoppy, though there's significantly more malt present in flavor than in the aroma. The hops still present lots of pine resin and citrus, though there's substantial earth and sweet malt components as well. Moderately bitter.
Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. A bit sticky. I like it a lot.
Well crafted, though a little bit maltier than I most often prefer.

On tap at O'Brien's.
A: Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange color with a nice one finger ran head and a good amount of lacing down the glass.
S: Tons of pine needles and sap, some orange and a ton of malt. Something that smells like damp dog blanket too.
T: Lots and lots of malt here. A touch of piny hops and a good amount of resin an bitterness, but not really a ton of hop flavor. The malt dominates here and doesn't really add a lot in the way of good flavors. I wouldn't get this again.
