Described as an American Weizenbock. On tap at Sublime Alehouse.
A: Sort of a standard cloudy, ruddy Weizenbock appearance.
S: Clove-like phenols, prune, raisin, and plum. Banana esters meld with a touch of vanilla and notes of wheat and bread.
T: Rich melanoidins blend with banana, wheat, and clove. There's a touch of vanilla and chocolate with alcohol warming on the palate. Malt is bready and rich. Dark fruit is reminiscent of date prune, and plum.
M: Lower full body with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Upper low to lower medium body.
Overall: A nice Weizenbock. There's a dearth of German styles being made in San Diego so this is a welcome change of pace.
