Went to the 2015 Ballpark Beerfest in Syracuse and while in the VIP suite had the opportunity to speak with Matt Whalen, brewmaster at Good Nature. It was so awesome as a beginner homebrewer to chat and get some really great suggestions on how to improve. Thanks for the chat Matt and the brews!!!
Being such a great experience we decided to head down to Hamilton that evening to see the tap room, about a hour drive.
The Tap Room is located right on a main street in a college town (Colgate I think) and had a definite younger crowd feel when we walked in, but not the crazy Saturday night college crowd I was afraid we were going to run into. The bartender, whose name I forget, greeted us through the small crowd at the bar and got us set up with a flight of their beers on tap and a few beers. We grabbed a table and the first thing I noticed was there was not a single TV in the place, how awesome is that!! The next thing we all noticed was that the majority of the folks in there were not nose down on their cell phones. We sat and enjoyed our beers and really digged the vibe of the place. There was actual conversation going on.
Since they did not serve food there, we settled our tab and headed across the street for some dinner. Afterwards I wanted to grab a Good Nature's Flanders Red Ale for the road and a bottle to take with me. The bartender remembered us immediately and set us up. We sat at a couch that was set up in the corner and the crowd was a bit thicker, but it was still pretty awesome to see people actually talking to each other than staring up at TV screens or on their phones the entire time.
Vibe was excellent
Quality was over the top- great beers and selections IPAs and APA, brown ale, oatmeal stout and of course the GREAT CHOCOLATE WRECK stout
Service- just wish I remembered the guys name, he was great!! Remembered me by name after coming back in after a couple of hours on a busy Saturday night. Quick setting us up!!
Selections- nice selections of seasonal and year round...Annie is a great DIPA.
Overall- highly recommend stopping by this place if you are passing through. It was well worth the hour drive from Syracuse, even after a full day of beer tasting at the Ballpark Beerfest

Great location across from the park provides great parking opportunities. Large taproom with bar and table seating. It's decor at the bar is almost what you would expect a backwoods shack bar to look like. Clean, tidy, and given that all the beers on tap are ones they brew, a great selection. Definitely worth a stop in if you are looking for less of a rowdy barhouse and more of a refined tasting experience.

This is a great place to enjoy a pint or two. Nice location along the main strip in Hamilton, NY (small college town).
Good beer selection to pick from, and all brewed locally by Good Nature Brewing.
You can get your own beer mug here as well to be used on premises.
Good beer glassware for sale here as well.
Definitely worth a stop to try the brews on tap, and they have excellent hours.
