Blonde Stout Aged on Coffee Beans
Pale in color and rich in flavor, The Illusionist plays tricks on the senses. Café Grumpy Heirloom Kochere beans give this blonde stout a strong roasted coffee aroma, with notes of blackberry jam on toast and hibiscus. The addition of Hallertau Blanc hops give way to a smooth finish of lemon and subtle stone fruit.

A: The beer is very murky dark yellowish brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of coffee beans are preset in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of coffee beans with notes of sweet malts and hints of green grapes.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a tad smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The appearance of this beer is very deceptive as it is packed with lots of coffee flavors but has an interesting contrast with hints of green grapes from the Hallertau Blanc hops.
