On tap at Coney Island Brewery, Brooklyn, NY.
Pours a clear straw golden color. A moderate head retains well.
The nose opens with notes of musty wood and moist grass. Aromas of bready and biscuity malt emit some sweetness.
Bready, biscuity and cracker malt provide a soft and sweet backbone. It nicely supports flavors from the Foeder barrel, which evokes woodsy, musty, rustic and lightly funky notes. There is a touch of hops bitterness for balance along with grassy spices. The finish is dry and semi crisp.
Light to medium bodied. The mouthfeel is semi crisp with some malt softness.
A delicately crafted Czech/Bohemian Pilsner with some interesting flavors from the Foeder barrel. Well balanced and refreshing. I would have again.
