7.5% DIPA, 64oz growler
Filled 3/13/13

A: Slightly hazy orange. Full finger of head. Sticky lacing. Still carbonated.

S: Fruity hops. Tropical. Nice nose. Some sweet malts. Nice smells.

T: Big hop bitterness on tongue. Big pine. Sweet juicy fruit hop flavors too: mango and papaya. Malts are nice to mesh in there. Finish is dry. Lingering hop flavors.

M: Medium bodied.

Poured a gold with white head and pretty amazing lacing.

The smell is pure win. Tropical citrus with a huge grapefruit note.

The taste was more hop flavor than bitterness. Lots of tropical floral notes with a slight bitterness on the back and not much malt to be found.

Pretty great IPA and I can see how they've been running out so quick.

On tap at El Cajon Brewing Company.

A: Burnished gold with an inch of white foam and scattered lacing.

S: Floral aromatics blend with bright citrus notes that are redolent of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit with a dash of peach. Malt is faint and crackery. Smells very good. Pine resin is evident but not strong.

T: A pleasant blend of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit flesh, with a fugacious midpalate sweetness. This is decidedly West Coast in style as malt imparts very little sweetness and provides just a little cracker. The beer has a moderate level of smooth bitterness.

M: Lower medium body with upper moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is dry and sticky.

Overall: A good IPA and my favorite of the four beers I tried from El Cajon Brewing Company.
