Stated on the bottle as a dark strong bitter and thats what pours a rich dark almost cola brown starts with a huge slight off white head that halves but still is impressive.
The malt notes float from the moment you open the bottle with vanilla and molasses making up the main body of the aromas with subtle hints of hops.
The taste has a roasted quality mild suggestions of balsamic vinegar and the merest hint of chianti forces the hops to an after taste that tickles before quickly disapating.
Nice mouthfeel but a slightly over lively carbonation makes this the least favourite Wincle offering but still a great bitter.
