A: They converted a old gas station/dinner into a winery and brewery in one. I thought it was pretty cool and enjoyed that aspect of it.

Q: I didn't enjoy a lot of their beers but a few were pretty damn good. The portier from what I remember was very good and their wine selection was top notch

S: Under staffed with only one worker at the bar and doing wine tasting.

F: didn't have any

V: The wine tasting was only 5 dollars for two different wineries and you got to keep the cup which was pretty damn cool. The flight they offered was also only 7 dollars.

The wife and I stopped here yesterday to try the beers and to have some lunch. This place is right at the Exit 127 off of I-94.

We shared a sampler that came with 7 pours that were probably 4 ounces each for $10. The selection included a hard cider, a honey wheat, an amber, a brown, a wheat IPA, a hybrid (blend?) of the IPA and the brown, and an oatmeal stout that was on a nitro tap. All of the beers were average or slightly better than average, but the cider is difficult to assign a rating because we drink so few of those. We agreed that it was the best that we've ever tried, but we haven't tried that many to be a good judge. The oatmeal stout was our favorite.

The food was very good. We each had a sandwich, but we saw the pizzas on adjoining tables, and they looked like they would be really good too. Very unique pizza topping combinations were described on the menu.

Overall it was a good visit, and the winery being in the same building was convenient so that we bought some of that to take home.

Yes this was a Stuckey's many years ago(about 35). Half micro brewery, half winery with a decent food menu available. Just getting started here and are very open to advice from the beer geek crowd. The owner John is a great person who wants to make great beer. As of now they have average beer and want to improve when ever possible. the staff are very friendly and have a passion for beer. The food is above average. They have hard cider along with beer available in growlers. Weekends here they have local musicians playing which adds to the casual feel.

Bad Bear Brewing is located right off I-94 just east of Albion in what looks like an old Stuckeys building.Atmosphere is a little different, one open area that is half wine tasting/retail store, and half bar and restaurant.Everyone who worked there on our visit were very friendly, and made us feel welcome.

Beers are definately small batch,a one bbl system. They had a MPA,a cross between a brown and an IPA,a standard brown ale,a fruit beer ,an amber and a porter on during my visit.Of the beers I tried, the amber (on nitro) was my favorite. You can also get glasses of most of their wines at the bar.Didnt try the food, but the pizzas looked good.

One of the emplyees told me they had hand bottled some of their double IPA,and were going to have bottles for sale in the next week or so.I will probably return for that.

Edit 3/3/2012-A return visit was less satisfying. The two girls working did not seem to know what was going on.Bad pours,blown/malfunctioning kegs,odd/poor quality beers ( a wheat IPA and a brown IPA but no regular IPA? Come on)and a so-so pizza left a bad impression. The womens restroom had no TP or towels, and was dirty. Not good.
