Very dark red. Light frothy head with good retention.
Light aroma reminiscent of woodland leaf litter.
Bitter, burnt sugar, some spice and maybe a hint of the advertised spruce. Stewed hops.
Well carbonated. Definitely a Christmas ale (but without the spice) unlike many that bear that name.
