Hand pulled pint taken at The Cask Pub and Kitchen, London.
This American hopped IPA is another version of the breweries Grey Ghost, but using Crystal and Vienna malt to give it the colour and a slightly sweeter malt feel.
Red/Russet body, clear, with an off-white head, full and lasting.
No great aromas, some malty caramel hints with a citrus hop element maybe.
The taste is an easy blend of semi-sweet malty molasses and grapefruit/citrus flavours from the unknown American hops (Cascade I should think). The malts come to the fore at the initial sip with the hops giving a mildly bitter finish.
5.9% ABV: didn’t feel or taste that strong, so they’ve hidden the alcohol nicely, this is a well made brew, my first from this brewery, hope it’s not the last one I get a chance to try.
