500ml bottle.
L: Clear, russet colour with no carbonation and almost no head or lacing.
S: Soft rye maltiness. Light to nothing.
T: Grain bill contains barley, wheat, rye & oats. Can taste smokey caramel & an edge of spicy rye. Bitterness is moderate.
F: Dry, medium bodied.
O: A rich, flavourful ale that I struggled to finish. Not quite sure why. Couldn’t get to grips with the flavour. All malt flavour, very little hops (apart from bittering). Too earthy for my palate. I feel this is a tad unfair but it just didn’t work for me on this occasion.
