Barrel aged in bourbon barrels for 10 months with whole vanilla beans. Flaked barley, chocolate, rye, and Midnight wheat create the perfect blend of roast and chocolate to compliment the bourbon and vanilla.

This is not bad, but it's not great. It was super unbalanced, but the barrel character really comes through on the nose and initial taste. The problem is the vanilla seems to disappear.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a tulip.
Pours pretty dark with a tan head that holds a nice lacing. On the nose, big bourbon notes with some vanilla. Taste is a little vanilla up front followed by a moment of strong bourbon notes and finishes with some hop bitterness. Feel is somewhat thin but is to be expected with a porter. Overall, it's pretty nice for what it is. Would probably be a bit better with some age so I might have to pick up another bottle since they had tons on the shelf.

On tap at PreFunk. The sum is not the equal of all parts. Not one particular facet stands out, but the whole is pretty damn good. Body is kind of watery, alcohol is very present, roast grains subdued, but it somehow all presents itself as tasty and enjoyable. Imagine the possibilities...
