Could be categorized as a 'Sweet Stout' but the abv pushed it to the double/imperial stout category.
Nitro tap at Crooked Flats, Eagle ID.
Dark, opaque body with an inviting nitro off-tan head. Nitro mutes the aromas some, but you get the pistachio and the chocolate sweetness...maybe some flavored coffee notes as well. Big sweetness on the palate, the chocolate and pistachio really take off and dominate here...creamy and nutty, with hints of mint and hazelnuts as well, maybe even vanilla? Big creamy body, gets a bit cloying with the sweetness.
This is something that could be one I'd revisit; the nitro works with the body and doesn't mute the flavors too much. I'd stick to smaller servings, as it does get cloying.
