Aged for a year before opening on the weekend before Thanksgiving 2019. This one is pretty good. Pours jet black with little head. Smell is overwhelming bourbon! Taste is lots of bourbon up front followed by woodiness and biscuit. Love the bourbon stouts, will revisit this one again considering I live close to them.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head and no lacing.
This smells like bourbon and barrel burn, oak, espresso, and char.
The taste of this is very solid up front, but kind of trails off on the back end. There’s a nice barrel character here, with solid oak and lots of bourbon warmth. There’s lots of chocolate too.
I just wish this wasn’t so thin, though, as the flavor kind of faded away and doesn’t finish strong. It’s fairly drinkable at least.
This has a lot of good parts to it, but there’s a few flaws to it. Still happy to have tried it.

$ 11.14 (Including shipping)/capped and waxed bomber ($ 0.506/oz) from Tavour, Seattle, WA.
Undated bomber. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 60 degrees in a hand-washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.
Body – Dark brown/black, opaque.
Head – Small (Maximum two cm, aggressive center pour), khaki, dense, short-lived diminishing to a three mm ring and a thin central island.
Lacing – None.
First pour – Dark brown, clear.
Aroma – 4 - Sweet strong odor of bourbon.
Flavor – 4 – Begins with a strong taste of bitter chocolate and ends with a rush of alcohol followed by a flare of gastric burning. Initially, none of the bourbon nose translates to the taste, but allowing a swallow to first warm in my mouth opens an inadequately-aged bourbon, harsh and burning. it ends with a slight bitterness. No diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.5 - Medium, almost creamy, lively carbonation.
Impression and summation – 3.75 - Pretty much looks like every Impy stout out there but feels a little thin. The bourbon harshness is very forward but, unlike many BBA Impy stouts, is at least noticeable. Overall, the harshness is mellowed by the price point, making this a decent Impy stout but not an exceptional example.

Appearance – Noisy one finger head on a clear, nearly opaque brown body.
Aroma – Aroma was booze first and foremost, followed by roasted malt, coffee, and oak.
Taste – Bitter coffee, light booze, warming alcohol. No noticeable oak.
Mouthfeel – Smooth but with biting carbonation, an interesting blend of qualities.
Overall – A good solid Imperial stout, the barrel aging shows up most in the aroma and only slightly in the taste.

This one’s potent. Dark and smoky, the barrel aging evident in both the taste and aroma. Black with a skin of a beige head, oak barrel vanilla, peat, roast grains, all comes together perfectly. The version I tried was 10% yet surprisingly smooth. A keeper.

I have had a bottle sitting in my fridge since Father's Day waiting for my son to be born so I could drink it on MY Father's Day. Any minute my wife could go into labor and shortly after I get to crack that tasty bottle and celebrate my own Father's Day!
