My favorite Amber , hands down. The brewery is pretty local too. Not that cheap, but worth every penny in my opinion. An incredibly refreshing taste. I think the can design has been changed as the Amber Can now no longer says "Grindstone" on it. Highly recommended.

Canned 2021/10/05
Pours a frothy foamy 1.5 finger head with good retention, sticky lacing, clear auburn to rosy red color
Nose semi sweet but very toasted malt, rich toasted malt with fair Maillard characters, sweet caramel, toffee, bright floral honey bread crust, floral mild grassy hop, fresh hop
Taste brings more sweet malts, toasted bread crust, toasted malt with a bit of honey and cereal, toffee, caramel, little nutty, mild fruity esters with plum, date, fig, more floral grassy noble hop, hops getting herbal and a little spicy late on med dry slight sweet sticky finish, med bitterness throughout
Mouth is med bod, med to higher frothy carb
Overall pretty nice amber

Had this on tap and the can offering - I will write this review on the canned sample I acquired was a lot different than the draft sample - yes this has all the attributes of an "amber ale" (great catch-all category) but this canned version verges on bland but there is enough hopping to keep it interesting the thing i have against this beer is the annoying caramel discernment in both aroma and flavor which just seems misplaced in an ale....pours a clear amber with a 2 finger cap...aroma is musty-sweet with caramel dominating...flavor is caramel malty sweet with just enough hopping to stave off cloying sweetness...finish is clean and dense in malts with a hop bite.

I bought a can at the lcbo in Ontario 473ml at 5%.
poured a 2finger head into glass leaving a lace as you drink it
very nice red color very slow carbonation not much .
I thought this was a new beer when I seen it my can never said Grind Stone on it I guess they brewed it again after 7 years.
Work Hard Drink Easy it says on the side of my can .
taste is smooth not much bitterness and malty flavor.
very enjoyable and refreshing beer to drink

Small head with little retention. Decent enough lacing. Clear red amber color. Malt, caramel and hint of fruit (prune) . Light tasting with medium to high carbonation. Medium bitterness offset by sweet caramel overtones with a smooth finish. I didn't find it too dry. Not overly complex and overall nice tasting.

The colour was a good amber, but I found the beer a bit hazy. The smell was nothing special, while the taste hits of bitterness, without much of an offsetting taste. To me it was trying too hard for a bitter hop flavour, and not enough interest. Not a bad beer, but I have been sampling a lot better recently.

As a lover of amber ales I find this one not really what I expect but I really like it. The only issue I have is almost no lace.

Here we go again with a catch all style, I am one hundred percent rating this on what I think of flavor aroma and feel because the Amber ale style is too broad!
Appearance - This beer pours a magnificent clear medium amber color with 3.5 fingers of off white head that fades a lot but leaves a pretty decent bit of foam over the top of the beer. This is a fine looking amber ale.
Aroma - Some lemon up front followed by some nice roasted grains and caramel malt. hops are florally and clean . very nice all around!
Taste - its very light but at the same time extremely malty I get roasted nuts, caramel malts, some grainy malts, yet still manages to finish dry. This isnt really my favorite flavor combo in an amber ale.
Feel - Light and watery slightly prickly carbonation nice and refreshing feel.
overall - Its a decent amber ale but Would I buy it again probably not. First of all amber ales arn't really my favorite style so decent ones arnt catching my attention great ones are. Try it out one time if you do like them. as it may be fore you!
