A Medium malt body and slightly sweet onset is complimented by slight citrus undertones. This beer finishes smooth with subtle banana notes.

Appearance is quite nice, with loads of fine-grained foam in the goblet. Dark amber color and quite clear, so if a Kristalweizen is a filtered Hefe, then okay. Flavor is like a Dunkelweizen, rather sweet and malty, with less of the Hefeweizen esters. Still, it's spicy and rich, though tempered by the tangy finish. Interesting grainy aftertaste. Caramel and butter linger in the nose. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market in San Diego.
