Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a two finger creamy white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, kind of an English profile. Flavor is lightly biscuit malt, piney, citrus and grassy hops, malt flavor drops off rapidly leaving the hops a little stark on the palate. Citrus and grassy hop finish with lingering, somewhat resinous hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, good mouth feel. A rather old fashioned style IPA. The malt base feel a little English and deeply malty. The hops have a good balance of grassy and citrus flavors with a little pine that lingers into the hoppy finish. Solid and a little stolid. This one grew on me, and it's been a while since I had a old style malty IPA and this was a good one.
