A: The beer is clear dark red in color (it's very dark brown when viewed from afar) and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that quickly died down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel and chocolatey malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has some bits of associated sweetness from the maltiness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and is a bit smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer hides any traces of alcohol very well. It also seemed to be lighter in body compared to others in the style, making it rather easy to drink.

Somewhat disappointed for a beer style that I usually quite like.

Growler filled at the Green Growler Grocery in Croton-on Hudson, NY

Pour is dark auburn, nice dark tan/mocha head, a slow fader, but leaves a minor collar and lacing.

Chocolate and malty sweetness on the nose.

Dense malt notes, loads of caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate and honey come to mind. Sweet but not cloying. Scotish to the malty bone, and quite enjoyable.

On the heavy side of the mouthfeel, body scale, and lower carbonation then typical.

Well worth a try. More quality brew from Long Island upstart Spider Bite. I've been quite impressed with this newer places offerings.

A - Pours is dark brown with a cola consistency. Slight creme colored foam, and minimal carbonation.

S - Smells of whiskey come from the glass, along with a faint smell of molasses.

T - Has a refined taste with a slight acidic burn at the end.

M - Feels a bit more potent than needed, but went well with dinner.

O - Interesting take on the style, and decent enough to try again.
