On the stroll in Pacific Beach amid the tattoo caves, fashion outlets, and random bars and eateries. I noticed it was pretty vacant early on a Tuesday evening, but it picked up later with the young and restless stopping in for a slice. I noticed two mopes drinking pitchers of Bud, but the inked up dude and his date both had Allagash Curieux.

I counted 22 beers on tap, and was surprised to find it one of the better lists in San Diego. Prices from $4 to $7 for craft beers. Big board over the bar but also an informative draft listing. They have the decency to identify Budweiser as an "American Adjunct Lager," but that's like the warning label on a pack of cigarettes.

Some highlights included Ten Fidy, Speedway Stout and Horny Devil, Sculpin IPA, dry hopped Arrogant Bastard, Stone Smoked Porter, and lots of other interesting choices. The bartender/slicemeister was friendly and attentive, and happy to discuss beers and provide a taste.

Glasses include tall wheats, Chimay, Orval, chalices, and tulips. I was not so thrilled with the pizza but next time I will try a strombolli. They also have a big variety of fancier cheese steak sandwiches. The place is very tidy and way more comfortable than lots of temples of beer worship. In particular, they have a really good sound system that plays actual music you can hear. Great selection of reggae and related tunes went on and on but it was totally listenable. So this place was a pleasing discovery and I'll have to try the one on University near Hillcrest.
