My favorite Kraftbrau bottled product so far. The nose is pungent with roasted red peanut skins, peanut butter, dried apricots and caramel creme. Ample fizz and succulent fruit make this somehow fresher than the rest. Is it the higher alcohol holding renegade bacteria at bay? Bitter banana split cream and vanilla flavors... dry finish. With more practice this could be a really good beer.

NOTE: reports from trusted sources indicate this brewery makes a good barreled product. It must be stressed that faults in these bottled goods probably originate somewhere in the bottling process.

Beer was poured out in a nice pint with a frothy, thick head on it and was a nice extremely dark amber color. Scent was mainly malts, not spectacular.

The flavor was also very middle of the road, heavy on malts, and a touch of caramel, but it just sort of 'died' on the tongue and was more shallow than I would have liked.

Mouthfeel and drinkability were both decent, I had no trouble drinking the beer, and there was a good deal of carbonation to keep it going, but neither were standouts.

I open the cap with a bottle opener and WHOOSH out comes tons of the beer in foam form that I paid for getting my hands and shirt soaked in the stuff. As I said before I don't think this brewery quite has all their stuff together and working in the best way for mass production. The actual beer that I did pour in a glass looked quite nice and amber in color. The head looked good except for the fact that it was huge. Balanced flavor with a good mix of caramel maltiness with some more roasted nut flavor and slight hops that seemed a little fruity coming in afterwards. The finish is yeasty and dry. As one would guess way too much carbonation, it seems like they took all the carbonation from the dopplebock that I just drank and put it in this one. This company has potential but it still has a long way to go.
