Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace leaving some messy lace. The aroma encased some smoke/ash, light roasty coffee, burnt toast, light anise and dark chocolate nibs. The flavor blended fairly nice between sweet and roasty with the smoke trying to make a decent play underneath. Aftertaste was sweet and roasty complimenting the finish in the same way. The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation was felt. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, pretty nice porter. I’d have this one again.
