Dark brown where light can pass through the center of the glass. Decent head which leaves some random spots for lace.
The smell is sweeter than I expected—almost as if the beer had actual caramel added. No chocolate, coffee, or black patent malt notes. Interesting.
Thinner than most Oatmeal Stouts with appropriate carbonation. Quite sweet, closer to a milk stout without any lactose. The caramel flavor is strongest. A bitterness does show up in the swallow. Plenty of hazelnut in the swallow. The aftertaste is bittersweet with a burnt malt taste lingering at the end.
