Consumed on 11/01/2015. Served from growler. This is the Poltergeist Pumpkin Ale that has been oak aged for two years.
Nose is very strong of white wine oak barrels, pretty sweet smelling nose. The barrel is very nice but almost completely overpowers the pumpkin and spices on the nose, as they are both far in the background. The taste is completely different than the nose would indicate. Taste is delicious, with a slight pumpkin taste with subtle spices, very smooth. The barrel aging also comes through very nicely, it really ties everything together nicely.
