32oz growler. Poured into a pint glass. Ruby/muddy brown in color with a thin collar of foam. Moderate carbonation.
The nose includes some tart cherry aroma, bready malts, and a slight amount of hops.
Taste is a very well balanced combination of tart cherry on a solid malt backbone with some hints of roasted malts and bitter dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel is middle-of-the-pack as far as viscosity goes with just the right amount of carbonation.
Overall, this is a winner in my book. The one cherry stout I have had that really gets the cherry aspect right. Tart, complimentary, and not at all overwhelming. Blends well with the different malt flavors.
